The pic above is Dean’s Blue Hole, Long Island Bahamas- the deepest blue hole in the world- 660 feet deep. When I was snorkeling, I was terrified of swimming in the hole.
There was just something eery about being in such deep water. I finally was able to be in the water in the hole, but not swim across it- that’s for next year.
I know if I had stayed away- snorkeling a different part of the beach, I would have felt sad afterwards. My heart was pounding, I felt the fear, but I jumped in.
At the end of the day, I thought about the physical fear I experienced, and then I thought about all of the fear we experience on a daily basis- fear of rejection, fear of the unkown, fear of failure, fear of being seen, and I thought, well if I could overcome near panic and feel exhilarated, I can overcome any daily fear that gets in my way. So can you.
