I always love watching the Olympics… I study the faces of the athletes and can see on their faces when they have given up or when they have made up their minds to push their hardest through to the end.
After decades of observing the Olympics… I conclude that of course training and skill are paramount… however, it is mindset that gives an athlete the edge… The ability to stay focused, to avoid distraction, to keep their eyes on the goal… and most importantly a total love of what they are doing.
These are mindset skills that we can all apply… though most of us probably are not competing at the Olympic level. I have a special affinity for the 2012 Olympics since Missy Franklin lives just one suburb over from us in Colorado.
Perhaps, I also have a special love for Olympic competition because it was my brother’s dream to go… and sadly and unexpectedly his life was cut short at 15 years old. I think when I watch, he is watching – in spirit with me.
What do you and an Olympic Gold Medalist have in common? More than you probably realize. You have the capability to have a Golden Mindset and Focus on making your dreams come true- just like the Olympians.
Your Golden Mindset starts first with powerful questions that lead to the inner work that creates a winning mindset- an achieving mindset.
You can start working on this today just by engaging yourself with this question…
What would my life look like, if I said yes to my biggest dream?
I would love to hear your thoughts.
