You know those days where you wake up and the world seems slightly skewed; you feel off-balance from the moment you get out of bed and everything seems to start out just wrong? Irritation prickles under your skin and maybe even some confusion- after all, you most likely were perfectly fine or close to it yesterday. You might be asking youself, “So what is up with the day? and how can I get the real me back?”
Yes, I do occasionally have mornings like this, but I have an action plan to get back on track to feel positive, peaceful, and happy. My plan starts with a cold shower- yes, I did say…a cold shower. The shock of the cold wakes me up and helps me shake off negativity. Then, I have a cup of hot water with a lemon slice in it. I light candles (love pomegranate, lemon verbena, or anything that smells like the ocean). I write in my journal (including some affirmations like “All is well” “I am strong” ” I am loving”) and then, I take a brisk, short walk. All of this can be done in a span of about 20 minutes. Then I head for the nearest coffee place for a yummy latte. The point is…that I don’t allow negative energy to continue or spiral.
