Stop adding story.

Ever notice that when something “negative” happens in your life, it is so easy to say things like “Why does this always happen? Or I will never have this figured out. Or I keep making the same mistake. Or I will never hit my goal…the list could go on and on…Instead of seeing the moment for what it actually is, you tag on story from your past, that seems to affirm that indeed, you will never change, get better, grow…

I encourage you to look at the present circumstances or event for what it truly is without adding story. For instance, if you have been trying to lose weight and you eat an unplanned cookie (or several cookies), instead of saying- “there I go binging again, I haven’t changed, nothing has changed”…say,” I ate three cookies”- period. Acknowledge where you are and notice where you want to be. “I eat healthy or I eat healthy most of the time and occasionally I enjoy a sweet treat.”

Another example…you have an overdue bill and get a notice in the mail. Instead of saying…”I  have never been able to pay my bills on time, I have always carried debt, I can’t keep my head above water”…say “I have an overdue bill”-period. When you stay out of “old stories”, you can more clearly see what actions you can and need to take. You will get back on track, faster. You will feel better. You will move to a better thought place and a higher energy vibration.
