Take a moment to check in with yourself on a scale of one to ten (one – you are having the worst day of your entire life and ten- you are doing back hand springs in delight across your backyard). Reflect on why you chose the number you did. It helps to write down a few ideas in a notebook or journal. Regardless of where you are in terms of your check in…accept it…acknowledge it. Then turn your thoughts to where you would like to be. Maybe you wrote down a five and you want to be at an 8 or higher. Consider what it would look for you to check in at an 8 or higher today. What needs to happen with your thoughts…with your actions? Record some ideas in your notebook or journal. Just by practicing self-awareness…you have already started to shift to a better place.
I know, in my own life, if I feel less than an 8, I am heading for trouble and recognize that I need to make some shifts to be able to recalibrate my day.
When you set a standard for your own daily joy and feelings of success, you will soon recognize quickly when you are out of alignment and can take steps for positive change.
