I am reaching out to you to help make a prayer difference in the west. I live in Parker, Colorado and we have had a wildfire burning ten miles from our home, and the fire in Colorado Springs has been devastating (about 35 miles from us), there are also fires to the North and to the West of us as well. Many people have lost their homes, the Air Force Academy was even in danger at one point. My daughter drove home from college for a visit and drove through Colorado Springs during the height of the evacuations there and she was stunned at the devastation. Prayers are powerful and much needed, and if you feel moved to help financially- please contact the Red Cross. Thank you so much for considering this prayer request.
I am always amazed at how the communities come together- so many people are praying on facebook and other social media… it feels like the world is literally lifting up the people.
I find myself appreciating the small things- like being able to take a shower, drink a glass of water, and to see the blue sky ( we have been overcast for days with smoke clouds).
Journal Exercise: Ask yourself, “What are the little things in my day – right now- today- that I appreciate?”
