If you have followed me for awhile, you know that success and joy are what excite me every day. I view happiness and joy as thoughts that you can choose just like you choose your clothes from your closet in the morning. Setting happy intentions generally brings more happiness- dwelling on the positive side of what is working is effective in maintaining a high energy vibration for achieving your goals in life…
So… what about those times when we feel angry? I know I can’t stand myself when I feel angry- it feels so unnatural to me and uncomfortable. What I have learned is that anger can be a positive channel for success. When you feel anger and can’t figure out what it is (most of us will feel a bit of twinge of anger if we feel we have been somehow wronged- but what about seemingly unexplainable anger? I am going to put the health questions aside (yes, anger can be a chemical issue in the brain or hormonal issue- etc) and let’s look at anger as a teaching tool- as a compass even.
What I have learned about myself and many of my clients is that anger points out to us that something is wrong. Something is not working in our lives. So instead of feeling- geez how come I am so angry – what is wrong with me? Ask what is my anger trying to tell me? Perhaps your anger is letting you know that you need to engage in better self care… or that you are living out of alignment with your goals and preferred way of being. This is a great time to grab your journal and start writing down thoughts that come up.
Another tip is to use the energy of anger for something positive. One of my favorites is vacumming or pulling weeds. I have also found that when I feel angry- I can sometimes tackle something I have been putting off for awhile like going through a stack of mail or flipping my mattress over, etc… Take care not to make rash decisions when you are angry… but use the energy to propel you towards accomplishing something.
You may even get to the point of being thankful for the teaching power of anger. Next time you feel angry… don’t stuff it or squelch it … but ask… what is the lesson? What is the message?
I am not talking about ranting and venting… which sometimes escalates anger… I am talking about healthy recognition of a common emotion. I would love to hear about how you deal with anger in your life (no rants, please- lol).
A new session of my Be the Inspiration- Inspire Your World Group Coaching program is starting soon and you still have a few days to save big on this program. I wanted to share what a few past attendees had to say:
“I loved taking part in Sheri Kaye Hoff’s Be the Inspiration Leadership Program and continue to draw upon what I learned and the benefits of this experience. Sheri put so much into this program, and it is packed with tools and techniques that I continue to use. Sheri included recordings, coaching, handouts, and more to provide a complete experience. Having the recordings and handouts helps me to integrate what I have learned and go deeper into the concepts, even after the conclusion of the program.
What I learned about leadership has supported me in all of my roles, professionally and personally. Sheri helped me to get comfortable with embracing my personal story and the value it brings. Writing my I-story was healing and powerful. Sheri is truly a role model for me, demonstrating that great joy can come through inspiring others.
Sheri’s coaching saved me valuable time by pointing me in the right direction. Her warmth, encouragement, and guidance moved me into action, and I took steps and moved forward rather than staying stuck in confusion or overwhelm. Through her program, I clarified my message and gained the confidence to step into a new leadership role. She helped me to find my voice.
Sheri had a keen intuitive sense for what participants in the program were experiencing, and she took the time to address those concerns as they arose. I was comforted to know the challenges were common among the participants and anyone stretching beyond his or her comfort zone. With Sheri’s gentle support, I felt energized and inspired throughout this experience.
I am excited to be bringing this fresh energy into my work as a literacy interventionist in a public school and as a Family Manager coach helping moms to maximize time, energy, and peace of mind. I would highly recommend this program to individuals looking for this enrichment in their own lives and am confident that through Sheri’s coaching they can achieve great results, too.”
“I joined Coach Sheri Kaye Hoff’s Be The Inspiration teleclasses after taking up a free coaching session with her. I had some doubts about joining the class as I thought I would be the odd one out - I am an Asian Indian living in Singapore. From the very first class, Sheri made all of us feel so welcome and she gave us the time and space to absorb the materials, share our “wins”, discuss our difficulties and gently guided us to find spirit-based solutions.
Sheri had us examine our thoughts and beliefs about leadership, relationships, prosperity, unconditional love and much more. She coached us to be the inspiration in all areas of our lives; to be the leader not just at work or with others but also to become leaders of our own lives. From the very first exercise - writing my “I” story (which I now use on my website), I found every exercise gave me a lot of awareness and clarity. I left every class feeling energized.
Anyone who is confused, worried, mentally or emotionally exhausted needs to join the Be The Inspiration classes and apply the lessons. I know that they will gain a lot of clarity and energy and truly become the leader of their own lives.
“Sheri is a compassionate woman, an enthusiastic coach, who is an effective leader, full of positive energy and wisdom. You get into the flow of action immediately from the first class over the telephone from her opening “hello, hello this is Sheri Kaye Hoff. The BE the Inspiration: Inspire Your World group coaching program is effective, informative, action oriented, fun, and powerful. Sheri’s leadership style, the way she gets her message across, brings out the best of the participants self confidence, joy, success, and inspiration with her encouragement and guidance. Sheri is organized, empowering, and an action oriented dedicated coach that will support you to be successful if you are ready to do the work. Sheri teaching style is simple, effective, well thought-out, straightforward, achievable which inspires you to do the handouts, apply the concepts that you learn in the class and her one on one coaching sessions that is part of the program. You can feel her passion of helping others as it shines through her voice while you are inspired to take action and feel your fear and do it anyway. The course will give you tools to improve your personal life to live joyful and inspired as well as suggestions and strategies that will grow your business. You will be ready to execute, be an effective leader who is more bold, brave and daring.”
“Every failure brings with it the seed of an equivalent success.” Napoleon Hill.
When we think we failed… we often bring up all of our past mistakes again and tell ourselves- things like “I haven’t changed” “I will never succeed” or “I can’t win”. I want to share a poem I wrote about this very situation.
A Glitch…. A Blip
A glitch…A blip…
An outright catastrophe…
Stress, strain, worry, tightness…
Hands clasped over my eyes,
Temples throbbing…heart aching…
Fear grips my heart.
I am uncertain.
I pause… I remember:
I have already won…
I have not given up…
Ever…
I have already won.
The thought brings peace
To my sometimes cluttered mind
and calms my pounding heart.
Tension flows away.
As I renew my resolve- my commitment
Make a commitment this month to do whatever it takes to not give up.
One of my theories is that if everyone practiced excellent personal leadership, we would have very few problems in the world. When you look at your life, decide to be bold. And by BOLD, I mean:
B- Be a great manifestor
O- Own your plans. How to stick to your plans every day.
L- Live each day with more peace, passion, energy, and joy.
D- Do and be what you were meant to do and be.
Being a great manifestor means being able to handle that “money thing”. You successfully manage the money you have in your life and you bring in more. Check in right now and assess your personal “money story”. Recognize that success in this area involves a powerful money attracting paradigm as opposed to mindset absorbed with loss and lack.
Owning your plans becomes the essence of taking responsibility for the action in your life. You resolve to “just do it”. You commit to the big picture and persevere through the obstacles. Procrastination becomes a thing of the past.
Living each day with more peace, passion, energy, and joy is the zest of life. This is why we are on the planet. If you are far, far away from any zest. Do just one thing today to experience it. Let the sun rest on your face as you step outside of your home. Take a breathe. Notice your surroundings. Be fully present in this moment.
Doing and Being what you were meant to do and be is about living your purpose. If your work seems wrong right now, ask yourself, “How can I be more aligned with my purpose? The answer might be a slight shift or a complete 180. If you are “stuck” doing work at this moment because you need that paycheck, what can you do in your spare time that aligns with your true purpose? If you wonder about your purpose, this is the time to be a detective. Your life has been full of clues about your purpose. What felt natural? What made you happy? What made you sing and smile all of the time? What was satisfying? For example, in my life, every time I was in a mentoring, coaching, or training role in my career- I was crazy happy even though at different times, each job was also different. (When I graduated from high school, life coaching was not a career so there was no way I could have envisioned exactly what I am doing now).
Be BOLD today.
